An intensive finishing mixture comprising highly digestible and palatable forage, specifically formulated to maximise liveweight gain in finishing lambs. The high protein content from chicory, plantain, and clover makes this an outstanding choice for early lamb finishing systems, with lamb growth rates of 300–400 g/day achievable from well-managed swards.
Sold in 1-acre packs. Select your option below – each pack contains the exact seed quantities required to sow one acre.

Key Benefits
- Outstanding lamb performance – growth rates of 300–400 g/day achievable from well-managed swards
- High protein – crude protein up to 25% from the chicory component; D-value 70–80
- Rich in minerals – chicory and plantain together provide calcium, copper, zinc, potassium, selenium and magnesium
- Drought tolerant – deep tap roots on both chicory and plantain maintain summer feed quality when grass growth slows
- Anthelmintic properties – chicory helps reduce the burden of internal parasites in grazing lambs
- No bloat risk – chicory does not cause bloat, making it safe for intensive lamb finishing
- Rapid regrowth – recovers quickly after grazing, supporting rotational systems
Establishment Guide
- Sowing time: Spring (April) to mid-August, into warm soils (above 10°C)
- Seedbed: Fine, firm, and well-drained. Control broad-leaved weeds before sowing
- Drilling depth: Maximum 10–15mm. Can also be broadcast
- Rolling: Roll well before and after sowing to ensure good soil-to-seed contact
- Slug control: Use slug pellets to protect establishment, particularly in moist conditions
- Fertiliser: Chicory responds well to nitrogen (it does not fix N); requirements are similar to grass
Grazing Management
- Graze when sward height reaches 150–200mm and plants are resistant to uprooting
- Use rotational grazing for best results – short, light grazing spells in year one to allow establishment
- Avoid allowing flower heads to develop – graze or top before bolting occurs
- Avoid hard grazing in wet conditions to protect the crown and maintain productivity
- Growth rates will slow when soil temperature drops below 10°C
