The Connoisseur’s Choice – Superior Flavor and Striking Emerald Beans.
Broad Bean Masterpiece Green is widely regarded as one of the finest green-seeded varieties ever bred. A recipient of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM), it is celebrated for its exceptional reliability and the superb culinary quality of its beans. While many broad beans turn a pale, mealy grey when cooked, Masterpiece Green lives up to its name, retaining a brilliant, appetizing emerald green and a sweet, tender texture that is second to none.
Each pack contains 50 seeds, providing a generous harvest for your kitchen garden. This variety is a vigorous grower, producing long, slender pods that typically hold 6 to 7 large, succulent beans. Because it is a "Green Longpod" type, it is particularly hardy and well-suited to the UK climate. Whether you enjoy them simply steamed with a touch of butter or smashed into a vibrant seasonal risotto, Masterpiece Green delivers a professional, gourmet harvest every time.
Why 'Masterpiece Green' is a garden essential:
• RHS Award of Garden Merit: Proven to be one of the most reliable and high-performing varieties for the home gardener.
• Retains Color: The beans stay a beautiful bright green even after boiling or freezing, making them a visual highlight on the plate.
• Exhibition Quality: Often chosen by competitive growers for its long, uniform pods and blemish-free beans.
• Excellent for Freezing: Maintains its sweet flavor and firm texture perfectly, allowing you to enjoy your harvest well into the winter.

Gardener’s Tip: To discourage blackfly—a common broad bean pest—pinch out the growing tips (the top 5-10cm of the plant) as soon as the first pods begin to form at the base. These tips are edible and delicious when wilted in a pan with a little garlic!
