A French Classic – The Gourmet Choice for the Kitchen Garden.

Originating from traditional French markets, Shallot Zebrune is the definitive "Banana" shallot, prized by chefs for its elegant, torpedo-like shape and sophisticated flavor profile. It bridges the gap between a sweet onion and a traditional shallot, offering a refined culinary experience that standard onions simply can't match.

Each pack contains 150 seeds, providing a bountiful harvest of these gourmet bulbs. Zebrune is famous for its beautiful pinkish-brown, coppery skins and crisp, succulent flesh. Unlike many other shallots, Zebrune is exceptionally easy to peel and prepare, making it a favorite for busy cooks. Its flavor is remarkably mild and sweet, lacking the sharp "bite" of traditional onions, which makes it perfect for eating raw or lightly pickled.

Why 'Zebrune' is a garden essential:

  • Exceptional Culinary Quality: The sweet, delicate flavor caramelizes beautifully and is the secret ingredient for professional sauces and shallot tarts.

  • Easy Preparation: The elongated "banana" shape makes peeling and slicing much faster and safer than smaller, rounder varieties.

  • Bolt Resistant: This variety is remarkably reliable and shows excellent resistance to bolting (running to seed) during dry spells.

  • Long-Lasting Storage: Once harvested and dried, Zebrune bulbs store exceptionally well, keeping your pantry stocked with gourmet flavor throughout the winter.
