The Perfectionist's Beetroot – Uniform, Deep Red, and Deliciously Sweet.
Bona is a highly regarded mid-to-late season variety, prized by home gardeners and exhibition growers alike for its incredibly uniform, globe-shaped roots. If you are looking for a beetroot that looks as good as it tastes, Bona is the variety for you.
Each pack contains 300 seeds, producing roots with a very smooth, dark red skin. What sets Bona apart is its internal quality; the flesh is a consistent, deep crimson throughout, virtually free from the woody white rings (zoning) often found in lesser varieties. It has a high sugar content, making it one of the best varieties for eating fresh, juicing, or preserving.
Why 'Bona' is a top-tier choice:
-
Superior Internal Colour: Solid dark red flesh that looks stunning when sliced or grated raw.
-
Exceptional Texture: Known for being particularly fine-grained and tender, never becoming "woody" even as it matures.
-
Sweet & Earthy: A perfect balance of high natural sugars and that classic beetroot richness.
-
Excellent Storage: A reliable maincrop variety that stores well in a cool, dark place for winter use.
