The Royalty of the Kitchen Garden.
The Prince has been a staple in British vegetable patches for decades, and for very good reason. This esteemed heritage variety is legendary for its speed, often being the first bean ready to harvest in the summer.
Each pack contains 125 seeds of this high-yielding heirloom. Unlike the round "pencil" beans, The Prince produces distinctive long, flat, and fleshy pods that can reach up to 20cm in length. They are incredibly tender, stringless, and possess a depth of flavour that modern hybrids often struggle to match.
Why 'The Prince' remains a favourite:
-
Early to Harvest: One of the quickest varieties to reach maturity, ensuring you are eating fresh beans while other varieties are still flowering.
-
Excellent Texture: Produces flat, smooth pods that remain "snap-tender" even as they grow large.
-
Prolific Cropper: Despite its compact size, it is a heavy lifter, producing clusters of beans consistently throughout the season.
-
Heritage Flavour: A true gourmet bean with a rich, sweet taste that is perfect for slicing into "ribbons" or steaming whole.
